Your fitness program, preferably started a few weeks before your ski holiday, should focus on:
- Muscular strength and endurance - especially muscles in the legs
- Flexibility – having a good range of movement in your joints will allow your body to change to any sudden changes in your direction and also prevent injury when you fall.
- Aerobic training – enables you to gain overall fitness / stamina, so you can ski for longer. Fatigue results in poor concentration, ending in injury from crashing.
Many ski accidents happen on the afternoons of the first two days of your holiday. The following exercise programs will help you improve your fitness for your ski holiday, so you can enjoy your time on the slopes.
